Questions
Why do two salons of the same chain charge different prices?
These brands are franchised. Each owner sets their own prices within brand guidance, and local rent and wages feed directly into the base cut price.
Is the advertised price the final price?
For a basic cut, usually yes at walk-in chains. Add-ons such as shampoo, blow-dry or beard work are priced separately on the menu.
What is the difference between a trim and a haircut?
A haircut reshapes; a trim tidies one area or takes length off an existing shape. On a chain menu they are separate lines, and the trim is a fraction of the cut price.
How often do I need a haircut?
It depends on the shape more than the hair. Short clipper cuts lose their outline within a few weeks, while longer layered shapes hold for a couple of months. A cheap trim between cuts is the usual way to stretch the interval.
Do I need an appointment?
At the walk-in chains, no: most run a queue and let you join it online or in the app. Full-service salon chains generally expect a booking, and always do for chemical services.
