What a visit is like
How Movement Climbing + Fitness works, chain-wide - the same at this location.
- A membership covers every Movement gym across the country, not just the home location.
- Members get one guest pass a month for a returning visitor, plus up to two first-time guests per day at no cost.
- Everyone signs a waiver; new boulderers also watch the bouldering orientation video, and top-roping requires a belay-certified partner.
- Yoga and fitness classes are unlimited for members at no extra fee, and skill-building climbing clinics are free.
- Auto-belays exist only at some gyms in Texas, New York and Pennsylvania.
- Free Introduction to Rope Climbing or Introduction to Bouldering classes are included for members and the friends they bring, alongside the two first-time guest passes a day.

Questions
Why is the advertised monthly price not what I pay?
Most chains quote dues only. A joining fee at signup and an annual maintenance fee are charged separately, and together they often add more than an extra month's dues across a year.
What is the cheapest way to try a gym?
A day pass. It carries no contract, no joining fee, and it is the one price that compares cleanly between chains.
What is the annual fee actually for?
Chains describe it as facility maintenance or equipment replacement. Whatever the label, treat it as a fixed part of the yearly cost and add it to twelve months of dues before comparing brands.
Can I cancel whenever I want?
Only on a month-to-month membership, and even then most chains require notice. An annual commitment normally runs its term unless you qualify for an exception such as a move or a medical reason. Several chains still require cancellation in writing, so ask how it must be submitted and keep proof that you sent it.
Can I pause a membership instead of cancelling?
Most chains allow a freeze for a limited number of months. Some hold it for free, others charge a reduced monthly fee while it is paused. It is usually cheaper than cancelling and rejoining, because rejoining means a new enrollment fee.
Is a no-commitment membership worth the higher rate?
It is if there is any real chance you will stop within the year. The commitment discount is small next to what an early exit costs at most chains.
Does my membership work at other locations?
That is usually what the higher tier buys. Base tiers are typically tied to one home club, while an upgraded tier adds access to other clubs in the chain.
Can I bring a guest?
At most chains, only on a tier that includes guest privileges, and often one guest per visit. Otherwise the guest buys a day pass.
